My definition of public relations is a management function that identifies, establishes and maintain mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the various publics on whom it success or failure depends. Another definition of public relations is a deliberate, planned and sustained effort to develop, establish and maintain two-way communication between and organization and the public.
