In this essay I will explore Siegfried Sassoon’s attitudes to war. Siegfried Sassoon detested war and so in 1917 started a crusade against fighting. He said ‘I can no longer be a party to prolonging those sufferings for ends which I believe to be evil and unjust.' This sums up his whole feeling that effects his war attitudes. He detested the slaughter and misconduct of the war by generals and politicians. He doesn’t like the fact that people don’t care when soldiers give their lives for others.
