Progressivism, Jacksonianism, and Jeffersonianism were all ideals that ran on the platform of a government for the people. In line with this central platform, all three ideals opposed big business, supported social reform, and were discriminatory in one way or another. They all needed to work in the area of equal rights but one could argue that that it couldn’t have been done in these times. We should look back and take the good parts of these ideals and continue to use them today while working on the bad parts to keep a fluid government that continually improves itself.
