couples in America that were splitting up due to the war. In the final scene where the couple say good bye to each other, the viewer gets a real sense of what it was like in America as young soldiers said there farewells to their loved ones, unsure of whether or not they would ever see each other again. However, the patriotic duty is to protect the country overwhelms the pain in saying good-bye.
