Bob Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. He taught himself how to play the piano and guitar and liked writing poems. He grew up listening to the music of Elvis, Little Richard, Hank Williams and Woody Guthrie. While he was in college he changed his name to Bob Dylan because he thought it sounded cool.
