As you can see, Beowulf and The Seafarer are both very clear examples of William Butler Yeats’ quote on “supreme art.” These are not the only examples of how heroic and religious truths mix, but they are the easiest to see. There are other examples, in other types of writing, at other periods of time, but none are as poignant as the ones in the Anglo-Saxon era.
